Kanzo Selah Tafar
Leader of the Children of the Seventh Fire and the most wanted man in the world, left uncaptured only because a visible enemy is useful to the Accord. Kanzo wears the soot-black, forest-green and vermillion of Thamari, his locs heavy with beads, a gold medallion at his chest and a broad ceremonial blade he keeps sheathed. He speaks rarely and never argues. His power is a lifelong, unwavering faith joined to Atar's amplification and a mastery of the Fire Sutras no one else holds. His tragedy is certainty, not corruption.

Kanzo walks to the Accord's capital in total silence for days, holding the furnace Sutra that turns his body into a store of fire. At the walls he speaks three words, "Purify them, Nárun", and a beam of six days' stored heat bores through every rampart to the foot of the tower.
Against Samel and Augur he takes up the forbidden Flame Emperor form, which burns every cell of his body as fuel, and casts Reign of Flames: seven comets falling on the Accord, a Descent in miniature.
He spares both men at the last instant, heals his fallen followers with the Sacrifice and sends them home. His Origin empties and he comes apart into glowing red ash on the wind. His fire is received by the Blazing Palace beyond the sky.
